Key responsibilities of the candidate

The candidate will be responsible for providing legal advise on the litigation matters. They will represent the clients of the government before provincial superior courts. The candidate will draft the legal opinion and settlement recommendations. Candidate will interpret legislation and different regulations related to the cases to make good decisions. The candidate will negotiate the settlements to solve legal disputes. Candidate will collaborate with lawyers and support staff. They will advise the government Ministries on legal risk management and Strategies for litigation. The candidate will manage different legal matters and also meet the deadlines.

Professional qualifications of the candidate

The candidate should have Bachelor of law or an equivalent law degree from a recognised institution to apply for this position. They should have a membership in the law Society of British Columbia. The candidates should have professional legal licence required to practice law in British Columbia Independence Day. If the candidate has a professional certification through the provincial law Society it is mandatory for this position.

Experience needed for the position

The candidate should have 7 years of legal practice or equivalent related experience in litigation. They should have experience in court appearance before provincial superior courts. The candidate should have experience in civil litigation and dispute resolution. They should be able to advise the clients about legal Strategies and regulatory compliance. The candidate should be able to draft legal Court materials. They should be able to manage high volume of legal files and complete priorities on time.
