Job Description

Transport Canada’s Civil Aviation Directorate is looking to hire a candidate for the position of Senior Engineer (Inventory) EN- ENG- 04. They will be joining the Strategy and Emergent Technologies Branch (SET). The job location will be Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. The candidate will be working in regulating the Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems (RPAS).

Key Responsibilities Key Responsibilities:

The main responsibility of the candidate will be to develop and implement standards and policies related to RPAS product assurance. They will conduct verification and analysis for the design and integration of the system. They will evaluate technical documentation and test results for validating design integrity. They will prepare the technical guidance for RPAS operations. The candidate will review the technical implementations.

Education Qualification:

The candidate should have a degree in mechanical, civil, electrical or any other relevant engineering stream from a recognized post-secondary institution. They should be eligible for certification as a Professional Engineer in Canada.

Experience Experience:

The candidate should have 6 years of experience in the integration or validation of aircraft. They should be experienced in evaluating test results and should lead complex technical projects. They should have a background in regulatory development or operations in a regulated environment. They should have hands-on RPAS operational experience.

SkillsSkills and Competencies:

The candidate should have strong technical skills. They should have good written and spoken communication skills. They should be able to manage multitasking. The candidate should be able to meet the deadlines.
