Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) and Registered Practical Nurse (RPN)

Job Description

Indigenous Services Canada (ISC) is looking to hire Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) and Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) under HS- HS-PHS-07- 07 group. The candidates will be posted across remote and isolated First Nations communities in Canada. The selected candidates will work as a front line nurses and provide support to the community members.

Key Responsibilities:

The candidates will be responsible for providing primary care services within the LPN/ RPN legislative scope of practices. They will apply the nursing procedures in the public health field. The candidates will conduct assessments and administer medications to the community members. They will maintain clinical documentation.

Qualification:

The candidates should be eligible for registration as an LPN or RPN in any Canadian province. The candidate should obtain and maintain the registration without any obstacles. They should have a valid driver’s license. They should be able to maintain mandatory medical clearance. They should be proficient in the English language.

Experience:

The candidates should have 1 year of experience providing service as an LPN or RPN. They must have worked using fundamental nursing techniques. The candidates who have previously worked in a hospital, rural area or public health will be considered as an asset.

Skills and Competencies:

The candidates should be committed to working in a diverse cultural setting. They should have critical thinking. They should be able to make good decisions. They should be a good team player. The candidates should have strong interpersonal skills. They should have good written and spoken communication skills.

 Benefits

The selected candidates will get a salary of $37.64 – $40.92 on per hour basis. They will also get isolation, retention and northern allowances. They will get comprehensive training.
