The Public Prosecution Service of Canada (PPSC) is looking to hire suitable candidates for the position of Counsel/ Prosecutor/ Lawyer. This is an inventory based position, so the candidates will be contacted for future vacancies as well. The job location is Yellowknife, Canada. The selected candidates will get a salary of $93,262 to $206,386 on per year basis. The candidates must be eligible for membership in the Bar of Northwest Territories. Key Responsibilities:

The selected candidate will conduct criminal prosecution in the Supreme Courts. They will handle the offences like homicide, assault and litigation matters. They will travel to different communities for court assignments. The candidate will review files of offenders and pursue their applications. They will manage the files efficiently.

Required Qualifications:

The candidate should be eligible to get membership in the Bar of the Northwest Territories. They should be a member of a Bar in Canada. They should have a valid driver’s license. They should be eligible to get enhanced reliability security clearance. The candidate should have a law degree from a recognized institution.

Experience Needed:

The candidate should have experience in appearing in court as a counsel. They should have recent experience in conducting criminal litigation.

The candidate should have strong legal knowledge. They should have good decision making skills. They should have good communication skills. They should know how to write good reports. The candidate should know how to keep file management. They should have leadership skills. They should have team work skills. They should be able to work in high pressure condition.
