Job Description

City of Vancouver, the Board of Parks & Recreation is looking to hire dedicated candidates for the position of Building Worker. The job location will be Vancouver, British Columbia. This hiring process will create a pool of candidates. The candidate should have completed a certificate program in building services and have some related experience. The selected candidate will get a salary of $ 28.83 to $ 33.75 on per hour basis. The applications are accepted until the position is filled. 

Key Responsibilities:

The candidate will be responsible to perform heavy cleaning duties. They will clean the windows and washrooms. They will do carpet cleaning. The candidate will empty the garbage and maintain cleanliness. They will do a minor repair. The candidate will safely operate a vehicle daily. They will work in different shifts like mornings, evenings, overnights, and weekends. 

Required Qualifications:

The candidate should have completed a recognised certification program in building services. They should have a WHMIS certificate. They should have a valid Class 5 BC driver’s licence. The candidate should have good physical health and should be able to perform manual tasks. 

Experience Needed:

The candidate should have experience in performing routine manual cleaning. They should have experience in using janitorial tools and supplies. They should have experience in maintaining public facilities. The candidate should be able to work independently. 

Skills and Competencies:

The candidate should have knowledge of cleaning materials and methods. They should be able to organise a work schedule. They should focus on the ways to maintain cleanliness. The candidate should be flexible to work on different shifts.
