Job Description

Indigenous Services Canada is looking to hire dedicated candidates for the position of Community Health nurses. The job location will be a rural and remote First Nation community in Northern and Southern Saskatchewan. This process will create a pool of qualified candidates who will be considered for future vacancies as well. The candidate should have a recognised degree in nursing from a post-secondary institution. The selected candidate will get a salary of $95,896 to $109,001 on per year basis. The last date to apply for this position is August 12, 2026.

Key Responsibilities:

The selected candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive and culturally safe nursing services to the First Nation community. The candidate will do the community outreach and Health Promotion programs. They will work with the communicable disease management and outbreak response. They will work with the maternal child health program and sexual Health Services. The candidate will include case management and post operative care for the communities. The nurses will provide services in the clinic, homes, and the community.

Required Qualifications:

The candidate should be eligible for registration as a registered nurse in a Canadian province. They should have a basic life support certificate. They should have a valid driver’s licence. They should have a degree from a recognised post-secondary Institute. They should be eligible to get a reliability status security clearance.

Experience Needed:

The candidate should have experience as a registered nurse in the last 5 years. They should have worked with primary Health Care, emergency care or a related clinic. If the candidate has experience in maternal child health and mental health services, or they have worked in remote or indigenous communities, that would be considered as an asset.

Skills and Competencies:

The candidate should have teamwork capacity. They should have good communication skills. The candidate should have analytical thinking. They should know how to respect the culture. They should know how to work independently in a demanding environment.

 Benefits
