Job Description

The City of Ottawa is looking to hire a dedicated candidate for the position of Specialist, Arts.  There are multiple part time permanent positions available. The job location will be across various community locations in Ottawa, Ontario. The candidate should be enrolled in a college or university in an art related program. The selected candidate will get a salary of $21.859 to $25.770 on per hour basis. The last date to apply for this position is July 6, 2026 

Key Responsibilities:

The selected candidate will help with the administration in the arts office. They will schedule the programs of arts and events. They will help with the promotion. They will look after the logistics whenever there is an exhibition or a class. They will help the public with the enquiries. They will work in compliance with health and safety regulations. 

Required Qualification:

The candidate should be enrolled in a college or a University in a program related to arts studies. They should know how to operate equipment proficiently, such as pottery wheels and lighting systems. They should have completed health and safety training. The candidates should have a current standard first aid and CPR certificate. 

Experience Needed:

The candidate should have two years of teaching experience in the arts field. They should have experience helping with public programs and workshops. They should have experience with administrative tasks. 

Skills and Competencies:

The candidate should have strong organisational skills. They should have good multitasking skills. They should have good communication skills. They should be able to write materials for the programs. The candidate should be able to meet deadlines.
