Registered Practical Nurse, Inclusive Recreation (Part-time)

Job Description

The City of Ottawa is looking to hire a candidate for the position of Registered Practical Nurse (RPN). The job location will be in different community locations in Ottawa, Ontario. There are multiple vacancies for this part time continuous position. The candidate will work for up to 24 hours every week. The selected candidate will get a salary of $35.548 – $47.634 on per hour basis. Candidate should have an RPN diploma and should have registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.  The last date to apply for this position is July 6, 2026. 

Key Responsibilities:

The candidate will be responsible to care for children and youth in recreation programs. They will do the specialised medical and technical care of the patients. They will monitor the health status of participants and report any abnormality to their seniors. The candidate will collaborate with the program staff. The candidate will be responsible for creating an inclusive and safe environment. 

Required Qualification:

The candidates should have completed a 4-year nursing degree and a 3-year RN diploma. They should have a current RPN licence with the College of Nurses of Ontario. The candidate should have a current standard first aid and CPR certificate. They should have an Intervention Training Certificate. 

Experience Needed:

The candidate should have 3 -5 years of nursing experience in rehabilitation or community. They should have practical experience of clinical and Technical nursing skills. They should have experience in helping the individuals with disabilities. 

Skills and Competencies:

The candidate should have good decision making ability. They should have leadership qualities. They should have team work skills. The candidate should be flexible with scheduling. They should be reliable and dependable. The candidate should have knowledge of Health and safety legislation.
