Job Description

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) is looking to hire dedicated candidates for the position of Firearms Officer (PM 03, SP PADM 03). The job location will be Prince George, Kamloops, Surrey, Summerland, and Victoria in British Columbia. The candidates are required to have a Secondary School diploma.  This process will create an inventory for the future openings. The selected candidate will get a salary of $73,798 to $79,511 on per year basis. The last day to apply for this position is July 31, 2026.

Key Responsibilities:

The selected candidate will be responsible to enforce the firearms act. They will investigate and decide on the approval of fire arms licence or revocations. They will assess the databases of the police and court to conduct risk based assessment. They will interview the applicants and medical professionals. They will do inspections of the shooting range and private residences.

Required Qualifications:

The candidate should have a Secondary School diploma. They should be eligible to get an enhanced reliability status security clearance. They should have a valid driver’s licence. The candidate should be willing to work in a different environment. They should be able to travel and work overtime.

Experience Needed:

The candidate is required to have two years of experience in conducting complex investigations. They should have experience in conducting interviews. The candidate should have experience in writing documentations.

Skills and Competencies:

The candidate should have strong communication skills. They should have good interpersonal skills. They should have good judgement skills. The candidate should pay attention to details.
