Responsibilities of the candidate

The candidate will be responsible for providing oral Healthcare services. They will coordinate the oral health programs in the community under several programs. The candidate will educate the children and adults about oral hygiene and the prevention of diseases. They will collaborate with dentists and Healthcare professionals to provide access to oral Healthcare. The candidate will keep the patients record confidential and also follow the professional standard. The candidate will transport portable dental equipment for the services that are based in the community. The candidate will participate in a public health initiative and promote oral health awareness. 

Professional qualifications of the candidate

The candidate should have a post-secondary diploma in dental hygiene from a recognised institution. The candidate should have active membership in good standing with the Ordre des hygiénistes dentaires du Québec (OHDQ). They should have a valid driver’s licence. The candidate should be able to travel as per the requirements of the job. The candidates should be eligible for a reliability status security clearance. The candidate should be profession in French because the position will require communicating in the French language. 

Experience needed for the position

The candidate should have knowledge of oral Health Promotion and educating the patients. They should be able to work in collaboration with the Healthcare professionals. The candidate should have experience in providing service to indigenous communities. The candidate should be able to implement a preventive oral Healthcare initiative. They should be able to work in supporting community-based healthcare programs.

The candidate should have good communication skills so that they can educate the patients about oral Healthcare. The candidate should have good organizational skills to co-ordinate community. The candidate should be able to safely operate and maintain the portable dental equipment. The candidate should have knowledge of public dental protocols. They should have critical thinking skills. They should have good decision-making skills. The candidate should be able to maintain confidentiality while working with indigenous patients. They should be able to work in collaboration with different Healthcare teams.
